102 YEAR OLD BOISE WOMAN DIES AT HOME MRS JULIA A EVANS, PIONEER RESIDENT OF CAREY, SUCCUMBS

Julia Ann Phippen Eldredge Evans, 102, Boise's oldest resident and a pioneer Idahoan, died at 6 pm Friday at her residence, 1102 East Washington Street. Mrs Evans was born in Kanesville, now Council Bluffs, Iowa, July 21, 1848. She came to Utah in a covered wagon when 4 years old from Council Bluffs. She and her husband moved to Carey, Idaho, in 1893, being one of the first families to settle in the Carey valley. Mrs Evans was a member of the LDS church. Survivors include two daughters; Mrs Myrtle Arthur, Boise, Mrs TC Parke, CArey; three sons, Forrest H Eldredge, Ira Eldredge, and Ben L Evans, all of Carey; 39 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and 38 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 2 pm at the Boise LDS first ward.
