OGDEN - Nedra Findlay Winward, 83, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2004 at Emeritus Estates in Ogden.
She was born May 2, 1921 in Randolph, Utah to Sidney Arthur and Phebe Jane Jones Findlay. She married Irvin Henry Winward on January 26, 1946 in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Irvin preceded her in death. Mom was born and raised on a family ranch in Randolph. The family moved to Ogden when she was 18.
Mom was a member of the Ogden 48th Ward and served as a relief society visiting teacher, primary teacher and librarian.
She loved to spend time at Bear Lake. She enjoyed bowling, rodeos, horses, and the Jazz (the Boys).
Surviving are one son and two daughters, Michael I. (Dorothy) Winward, Wichita, KS; Brenda (Mike) Call, Ogden; JoLynn (Tom) Fowles, Riverdale; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Blair (LouJean) Findlay, St. George, UT; and Burke J. Findlay, Page, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister.
The family would like to thank moms "special girls" from 4Cs Home Care that made it possible for her to stay at home for the last 3 years. A thank you to Transition Care at Ogden Regional.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden. Friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd.
