MONTPELIER - Cherie Dee Sparks Bischoff, 82, passed away quietly in her sleep in the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier on August 14, 2012.
She was born on January 17, 1930, to Albert O. Sparks and S. Louetta Dayton in Dingle, Bear Lake, Idaho. She attended grade school in Dingle and graduated from Montpelier High School.
Cherie married DeOrr Bischoff, November 19, 1952. They lived in Geneva, Idaho, until they moved to Montpelier In 1962. She enjoyed reading, visiting with friends and family and especially adoring and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Cherie was a good neighbor and friend; an immaculate housekeeper and came to the aid of many. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Relief Society, Sunday school and Primary organizations.
Cherie is survived by her two daughters, Kristy (Ralph) Brown of Utah, Kandy (Brett) Hymas of Montpelier; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard (Vicki) Sparks of Dingle; and four nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the medical and nursing staff of Bear Lake Manor and Skilled Nursing Facility, who cared for her during the past two difficult years.
Funeral services will be held at the Montpelier First Ward Church at 485 S. Seventh St. on Friday, August 17 at noon. Friends may visit with the family at a viewing that morning at the church from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m. The interment will follow in the Montpelier City Cemetery with arrangements and services under the direction of the Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
