Doug grew up in Nounan Valley where he gained a love for the outdoors and learning a tremendous work ethic on the ranch his father managed. Like many post war families, these kids made their own fun such as fishing, playing in the hay loft and running in the meadows.

He met and married the love of his life, Patricia Joan Wilmot in 1952. They were blessed with 5 children.
He became a skilled body and fender man, also learning the skill of mechanics, owned his own business and was highly respected and trusted. He made many friends through the years and was a loyal friend. In 1971 he moved his family to a 100 acre farm in Middleton where he continued the legacy of hard work in teaching his children those same values.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities including the Bishopric, Ward Clerk, Scoutmaster, and his favorite, serving at the Church Orchard in Marsing. He and his wife served in the Pennsylvania, Wilkes Barre, Mission. He loved and served people!
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia, his 4 children, Mike (Kathy), Dave (Jan), Dan (Sherie), LaRee Jones (Harold), 19 grandchildren, 32 great- grandchildren, his sister Ruby Barfuss (Ray) of Star and his step-mother, Peggy Crossley of Mountain Home.
