POCATELLO — Marjorie Payne, 94, passed away peacefully November 3, 2012, with family at her side. She was born February 24, 1918, in Georgetown, Idaho, to Jesse John and Agnes Jane Bartschi McCammon . Her early school years were spent in a small wooden house with all grades attending. Marge attended high school in Paris, Idaho.

When she was in the ninth grade, she attended a Valentine party at the church and met the love of her life, Roscoe Payne. They were married on June 24, 1935, In the Salt Lake City Temple. They returned to Georgetown, where they operated farmland.

The family moved to Pocatello in 1939, for an employment opportunity with the railroad. They had a daughter, Janet, and six years later, a son, Roger, then 12 years later another son, Gary. While the children were young, she was a stay at home mother and contributed greatly to their growth and development. At this time, she was also involved with her church and played a leadership role in Relief Society, Primary and Mutual activities.

Marge always found a way to occupy her time and interests. When her children were older, she enjoyed employment in local retail businesses. She was valued by the people she worked with because of her kind and loving nature.

When the grandchildren arrived, Marge showed wonderful skills in the patient and special ways she treated her growing family. As the grandchildren grew older, and upon the loss of Ross, Marge returned to working many hours in the church and enjoyed other hobbies.

Marge is survived by her daughter, Janet (William) White; sons, Roger (Linda) Payne and Gary (Kathleen) Payne; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, her husband, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
