Theron "Buck" Sims passed away peacefully in his sleep, on December 6, 2012, three months after turning 100 years old. He was born September 26, 1912, to James and Rose (Tueller) Sims, in Paris Idaho, and was raised in Bear Lake, Utah where he did a lot of hunting, fishing, and trapping with his brothers to help feed a large family of 14. After moving to Amity, Oregon with his wife Leslie, he planted raspberries and grapes to make his famous uncle Bucky's wine.
He is preceded in death by his parents, nine of his 11 siblings, his previous wife and the mother of his children Afton Taylor Sims. He is survived by his wife Leslie Worley Sims and his 103-year-old sister Louise Calder and brother Gordon Sims, his children Sharon (Ray) Meik, Marsha (Nelson) Ames, Forrest (Mona) Sims, Robin (Mike) Hanson, six grandchildren, five great-grand children, six great-great-grandchildren and stepdaughter Lynn Paxton. We want to thank Joanne Beaudry his truck-driving buddy, and the Eichler family for looking after Dad and Les all of these years. Also, Linda Henry, Cindy and Terry Noreen and all of the people at Deer Meadow assisted-living, and hospice for the loving care.
Cremation has taken place, a private celebration of his life to follow later.
