Carol Rae Johnson Wilson, 68, passed away at the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility on March 21, 2013. She was born to Herman and Wanda Johnson on June 4, 1944. She was the youngest out of four children. She grew up in Ovid and went to Fielding High School in Paris. On April 1, 1967 she married Gary B. Wilson in Ovid and they were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.
Carol Rae attended college in Utah where she met her husband to be Gary Wilson. While raising their children she worked for First Security Bank and for the Bear Lake School District managing the food service. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many church callings but her favorite was working with the young women. She had many interests including a love for crafts and painting, gardening and cooking. Carol Rae loved helping and mentoring people. She had many friends and was called Mama Wilson by all the kids at the school where she worked.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Wanda Johnson, her brother George Johnson, brother in law Wilfred Hopkins and son Mark Wilson.
Carol Rae is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gary Wilson, sons Scott (Jeanine) Wilson, Brian Wilson, daughter Christina (Mike) Carr and son Ryan(Amy) Wilson. Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, sister, Rosa Lee Hopkins, brother, Jay (Kathlene) Johnson and sister in law Janet Johnson .
At Carol Rae’s request there will be no memorial service held at this time. A family gathering will be held in the summer to memorialize her life and carry out her last wishes. Her teachings and kindness will always be in our hearts and she will be remembered with love.
