Short Line Accident
William Hammond Killed in a Wreck Near Montpelier
Word reached this city yesterday that William Hammond, brakeman had been killed in a freight accident on Fossil hill, east of Montpelier. He was thrown under the cars and sustained injuries from which he died soon after.
Deceased was well known in this city, having lived hee for many years. He was a brother of Mrs. J.M. Clark.
