It appears that LILLIE LEOTA ROOD, SHOSHONE 054937 is the Lillian I am looking for. The Sun Prairie, WI, Countryman newspaper, March 28, 1901, provided the following:

Miss Lillian L. Flint invited a few intimate friends to a surprise party.... When all had assembled Miss Flemming... struck up the wedding march and Miss Flint and Mr. Horace G. Rood took their places...and Rev. D. C. Smith read the service which made the two man and wife.

In 1913 Lillian was attacked by a "maniac" near her home in Granite, and it wasn't clear to me whether she had survived the attack.

I'd be interested in anything more that is known about either Lillian or Horace.

Horace's brother, Harvey, was my grandfather. Lillian's sister, Jessie, was a school teacher who taught both my parents.
