wow, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I knew that Gr'GR' Grandpa Archibald had been in the Civil War and that he had been wounded in the line of Duty. i knew that his pension was something like $4.00 a month (alot of money in that time and age). My sister remembers that Grandma Hazel told her that he was a part of Sherman's March To The Sea also. i was never very good in history (learning disabilty) so needless to say it's not my long suit. i will be copying all of this to put it into Family History section of my Willis Family. another Hero in my family. also Esther's last name is Aldred. Archibald and Esther adopted 2 girls some time in 1900 and 1910 Pearl Morrison in 1900 and another young lady named Myrtle in 1910,according to the censuses. i can't wait until the 1940 census is complete maybe i will be able to find Henry P on that census.
