Wayne Edward Rish, 54, formerly of Idaho Falls and Arco, Idaho, died Oct. 6, 2001, in Johnson City, Tenn., of respiratory failure.
He was born Nov. 8, 1946, in Pocatello, to Harland James and Jean D. Rish. He spent his school years. in Arco and graduated from Butte County High School in 1964. He was involved in debate, declamation, basketball and track. He received the "Best Actor Award" for a one-act play at Butte County High School, as well as a National Forensic League Award.
On Aug. 6, 1965, he married Della O'Donnell. They were later divorced. His positions in retail store management took the family throughout Idaho, California, Arizona, Utah and Washington. He held management positions with EW. Woolworth, Woolco and Rasco stores. He was also employed with Intercraft Frames and, most recently, with Heilig Meyers in Johnson City.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, painting and reading. He loved his grandchildren, Rachel, Alexander, Cody and Kayla.
Survivors include his children, Tiffany Eckenrode of Quincy, Penn., Michael Rish of Idaho Falls; brother, Jim Rish of Gilbert, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly; and brother, Pat.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kearney 2nd Ward, 1860 Kearney, Idaho Falls. Cremation was under the direction of Morris-Baker Funeral Home in Johnson City.
