SODA SPRINGS — Connie Jane Freeland Squires, 62, of Soda Springs, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. She was born April 18, 1950 at Hershey, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George and Martha DiMagno Freeland.
She lived there until 1972 when she moved to Idaho. She married Robert R Squires on July 29, 1972, in Hershey, PA.
Connie received a BA in Education at Lebanon Valley College. She taught at Tigert Middle School in the Special Education Program and she also taught GED classes. She served in the Juvenile Conference and T& C Catering.
Connie was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday School and was a member of Presbyterian Woman. She was a Worthy Matron of the Goldenrod Chapter No. 64 Eastern Star and Past Bethel Guardian of Bethel 60 Jobs Daughters. She enjoyed knitting, her grandchildren, Eastern Star and Jobs Daughters.
Connie is survived by her husband, Robert Squires, two sons and two daughters and their spouses: Daniel and Jen Squires of Soda Springs; Tim Squires of Boise, Idaho; Laura and Scott Robinson of Boise, Idaho; Jill and Jake Smith of Soda Springs and by five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church with Mazie Porter officiating. Friends may call at the Sims Family Funeral Home from 10:30-12:30 prior to leaving for the church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Golden Rod No. 64 Chapter in Soda Springs. Services are under the direction of Sims Funeral Home.
