Alan J Foster, 51, of Soda Springs, Idaho passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013. Alan was born on January 16, 1962 in Ogden, Utah the son of Albert Joseph and Joyce Sorensen Foster.
He graduated from Soda Springs High School and then joined the Army and spent 6 years in various places including Germany and then returned to Soda Springs.
He married Colleen Gummersall on September 30, 2007 in Soda Springs.
Alan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He worked at Monsanto for 23 1/2 Years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, crafts, fly tying, traveling and teasing anyone who would allow it. He also enjoyed creating and displaying his Christmas Village.
Alan is survived by his wife Colleen, and two sons and two daughters, Douglas Foster of Soda Springs, AJ Foster of Oklahoma, Mandi Foster of Oklahoma, Heather Foster of Joseph City, AZ, and three step-sons Chris & Amanda Bridges of Soda Springs, ID, Matthew & Sarah Bridges of Filer, ID, Jason and Echo Bridges of Soda Springs, ID, and two step-daughters, Tanya and BJ Gentry of Soda Springs, ID, Catie Bridges & Terrance Aubach of Mountain Home, ID.
He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, his mother Joyce Foster, a brother Jerry Foster, and a sister JoAnn Foster Pugmire. He was preceded in death by his father Albert Foster.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Soda Springs American Legion and VFW.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Soda Springs Food Bank or the Christmas Angel Tree.
