Kenneth C. McClellan, 80, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Soda Springs, passed away on October 1, 2013. "K.C.", as he was known, was born to Kenneth and Zella McClellan in 1932 in Conda, Idaho. He attended elementary school in Conda before moving with his parents to Soda Springs, Idaho and attending Soda Springs High School, graduating in 1950.
K.C. then attended the University of Idaho, graduating in 1954. He briefly attended graduate school at the University of Florida before being called to active duty in the United States Air Force.
While serving in the Air Force, he was stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB, near Dayton, Ohio, where he married his wife, Dixie, in 1959. After the Air Force he worked as a defense electronics sales representative and served on the city council of Centerville, Ohio, before returning to Soda Springs in 1975. After a short period owning a small grocery he took over the family farm; farming until he retired and moved to Boise, Idaho in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his son Matthew McClellan of Ellicott City, Maryland; step-son John Keys of Beaverton, Oregon; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Boise Public Library, Boise, Idaho.
