LeRoy Longenbohn, Jr., 91, of Rodeo, California, passed away on Oct. 12, 2013. LeRoy was born Oct. 26, 1921 in Niter, ID to LeRoy Anton and Myrta Emma Sorensen Longenbohn. He was the oldest of seven children and raised on the family farm in Niter.
LeRoy graduated from Grace High School and entered the U.S. Navy. He married Elizabeth Arabella McPherren on Feb. 10, 1944 in San Francisco, CA. They had four sons, Steven T., William, Jeffrey Anton and Lance. They later divorced.
LeRoy later married Ida Mae Hill. He was an active member and High Priest in the LDS Church. He enjoyed golf, travel, gardening, and spending time with his family.
LeRoy is survived by three sons, Steven, William and Lance; six grandchildren, Jill, Shantina, Brittany, Lance, Jr, Ryan and Piper. Two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Sarah; and two sisters, Marian Greenslade and Barbara Morrison.
He is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Myrta Longenbohn; one brother, Don; three sisters, Lorene Harwood, Lucille Kennedy, KayLynn Ayers; one son, Jeffrey Anton, and his wife, Ida Mae.
LeRoy's remains will be laid to rest in the Grace, Idaho Cemetery next to his wife and family. The date is pending for a memorial service.
