Eddie Archibald Skinner, 74, of Soda Springs passed away at his home. Eddie was born on May 12, 1939 in Soda Springs, Idaho the son of Archibald Carlyle and Helen Marie Fowler Skinner. He graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1957 and then attended Idaho State University where he studied Auto Mechanics and Auto Body.
Eddie married Meredith Peterson on June 2, 1961 in Grace, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 8, 1965. She passed away on August 9, 1985.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He lived in Soda Springs his entire life except for the time spent attending ISU. He had worked at Caribou Implement, Beker, Nu West and Agrium.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his 4 wheeler, walking and spending time in the mountains watching wildlife. He was an avid supporter of his grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He loved reading books and had an extensive book exchange group. He also enjoyed picking huckleberries, baking pies, cookies, making Christmas candy and everything possible with zucchinni. He loved March Madness and closely followed college basketball and football.
Eddie is survived by three sons and one daughter, Alan E. & Kristen Skinner, Gregory Mark & Billie Jo Skinner, Michael Don & Michelle Skinner, Teresa Skinner all of Soda Springs, ID. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two more on the way, and a sister Sondra & Claude Snooks. He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister Jolene.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Noon at the Hooper LDS Chapel in Soda Springs. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Thursday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
