The Idaho Daily Statesman (Boise) has obituaries for Kathleen A. Smith in the 30 Sep and 1 Oct 2002 issues, per the obituary index at the Boise Public Library. I may be able to look at those issues, but it won't be until next week. If somebody else can see them before that, please post here.
John in Boise

John C.
In my family pictures I found a picture of Eula Smith of Mountain Home. I think she was best friends with my grandmother in Mountain Home, ID,. The picture was taken in 1925 and I'm guessing Eula was born about 1910. If you think this is "your" Eula Smith, let me know, you might be interested in the picture.

It could have been taken in Hailey or Picaboo or Mountain Home, Idaho areas. I think this was a friend of my grandmother who was born and lived in these areas of Idaho. If you think Catherine Kiggin is your relative, let me know. You might like this picture.

Hi,

I have been researching this line now for over 10 years. There is little information prior to the newly released census of 1940. I've just recently began researching again from a break I took. Sometimes you just need to take a break when there is little info.

Jeremiah W. Schock is my 3x's great grandfather thru the female line I have. His daughter is Pearl Lavinah Schock, she would be my gg grandmother. It is a very large family with many brothers and sisters. Pearl also had a daughter named Pearl. Pearl married Robert Bolton Rainey. Robert and Pearl's duaghter Margret Marie Rainey is mt g-granddmother. she married David Delance Zabriskie. Their daughter Helen Rose is my grandmother. Most of the Zabriskie lines are Polish with large families, you can find out more on those lines by entering a google search for Albrecht Zaborowskij, in this line there are 2 Zabriskie books of family lines. They settled New Jersey before statehood. I have provided you a link to look at:: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/16203240/family?cfpid=3494186... . There are some updates I now have that were not available to me prior to the census release of 1940.

Hope this helped good luck, Sharon Cantrell

Bring your own lunch and all will share what they bring.

If you have any family heirlooms, photos, letters, etc.. pertaining to Elizabeth Russell Archibald or her immediate family, please bring them for viewing.

For more details contact Brandon Sundeen.
Wow, amazing what you have found. Thank you very much. I had no idea when they married and what the maiden name of Cecil was.

And I don't mind you helping me again at all ;). I need lots of help with my project. I am researching the emigrants and their families from my place here in Germany. I don't go further than to their grandchildren, though.
The grandfather of George Frederick Robertson was born here in Baden, Germany.
So in case the owner of this familytree that you mentioned, will read this and follows the line of George Robertson, I can give them information about their german ancestors.

Bee

Hey Bee, guess I get to help you again. I think I posted some help info before on posting and the full information about the Social Security Death Index "Last Residence."

The Social Security Death Index:
Cecil R. Robertson, born June 9, 1897, died Nov 28, 1988 (91), "Last Residence" Glenns Ferry, Elmore Co, ID.
George Robertson, born 8 Feb 1897, died July 1975. "Last Residence:" Glenns Ferry, Elmore County, ID. His SSN: 518-09-3350 was issued in Idaho before 1951.

The World War I Draft Registration Card Image Database:
George F. Robertson, born Feb 8th 1897 in Montpelier (Bear Lake), ID, livin in Glenns Ferry, nearest relative George W. Robertson. He registered as required on June 5, 1918 at Mountain Home, ID

The 1930 Census of Glenns Ferry, Elmore Co, ID
George Robertson, age 33, born in Idaho to father born in Illinois, mother in Iowa, Assistant Cashier/Bank, Owned his home, owned a radio.
Cecil, age 32, born in Colorado to father born in Pennsylvania, mother in Ohio (The 1920 Census identifies both as being 22 years of age).
Edward D, 11 (The 1920 Census identifies he was 11/12 in age, it was enumerated in the 2nd/3rd Week of January, so he was born "about" February 1929.
Helen, 9
James T, 5, All children born in Idaho.

The World War II Draft Registration Card Image Database (The Old Man's Draft Registration).
George Frederick Robertson, living at Glenns Ferry, Elmore Co, born Feb 8, 1897 in Montpelier, ID.
"Name and Address of Person Who Will Always Know Your Address:" Mrs. Cecil R. Robertson, Glenns Ferry.
He was 5'-10" in height, 196 pounds, gray hair, blue eyes, ruddy complexion.

George and Cecil Romana Buffington were married in Moscow, Idaho, on 8 Sep 1918. In the 1910 Census she was living in Glenns Ferry with her parents Sim and Ellen

I found a family tree (Private information) owned by a KarenMcKellar28 having Cecil. I sent a message to the owner to read this thread.

It appears George and Cecil lived in Glenns Ferry their entire life. She "might" have gone to live with one of her children at the time of death; but, it would appear "logical" that the local town would here of her death. Obits are NOT automatic however, she was elderly, a lot of elderly do not have obituaries published. This is due to their own wishes, health, period of time in an area/or gone, wishes of the children due to financial concerns, etc.

I do not normally suggest a library contact, as most libraries are having financial problems and can not spare time for obit lookups. But, in this case, small town attitudes might ensure some aid.
The Glenns Ferry Library:
http://glennsferryidaho.org/library.htm

The Elmore County Historical Museum is a museum...
Those freepages at rootsweb that do obits usually don't work. If at first, they don't succeed, try, try, try...somewhere else.

Hi,
It looks like you found her death info on the Last Residence field on the Social Security record. This does NOT necessarily mean it was truly her last residence. The Social Security uses that field for other purposes.

However, since Idaho death certificates are sealed for 50 years and that's all we have to go on, it's the best place to start looking for her obituary. There is an Elmore Co. volunteer at Obituary Lookup Volunteers-Idaho, http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~obitl/voli... .
Scroll down to Elmore and choose Laura.
In the 1885 Iowa Census for P.D. Bailey there is a listing for a Sophia Cone, which I believe is my wife's grandmother. Orphaned, we believe, not too many years before she shows up with the P.D. Bailey family. Do you have any info/knowledge of the Bailey family in 1885? Were the Bailey's possible friends or relatives to Hiram and Harriet Cone from Iowa? Sophia had two sisters (Martha/Mattie and Harriet/Nellie) and a brother (Wallace) that seem to disappear, along with their parents Hiram and Harriet Cone), from the Census records about this same time. We know that a Sophia/Sopha Cone ended up in Wyoming with a McDougall family and later married my wife's grandfather, Andrew Ekstrom. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Did they live in Mountain Home in 1984, or were they married in Mountain Home in 1984? Idaho holds birth certificates as confidential for 100 years, Death Certificates for 50 years (so if they married in 1984, you're not getting the record). http://www.healthandwelfare.idaho.gov/?TabId=82

Walter Theodor Wiltfang, born 8/7/1904 in Nebraska, died 11/19/1983 in Mansfield, SD.
Ellen Natalia Nelson, born 6/24/1906 in Sandefjord, Norway, died 7/29/1993 in Mansfield, SD.
Dale Wiltfang, born 2 Mar 1929, died Nov 1984 in Kansas City, Jackson Co, Missouri
--The 1930 Census finds Walter T and Ellen N in Warner, Brown Co, SD. Daryl N was 2 11/12, Dale A, 1 1/12. South Dakota Birth Records protected for 100 years so can't find Dorraine's birth info.

In the future, present the information you have on your persons. Identify known dates of birth, dates of death, places of birth, etc. It prevents a volunteer from having to start from scratch. In this particular search, just focus on the basic facts.

There was a Charles R. Aggen, born 6/17/1928, died 9/13/1999, at Mountain Home. Obtain his obit also. He is buried in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Public Records show Charles R. Aggen living at Daniels Rd RR 1 Box 858, Mtn Home. Also listed at this address was a Dorraine A. Aggen, born 5 July 1931. A Bradley W. Aggen, born 3 Sep 1959 also at that address.

For other/further information:

There is a Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness volunteer in Elmore County. http://www.raogk.org/idaho.htm Ask them to check the city directories (Polks) for Mountain Home in/around 1984, looking for ANY Aggen. That would establish the full name of the Aggen person, the fact they lived there and they were married. If they were not married before 1984, then have them look for public records for the marriage (Not the confidential ones).

Also try to obtain the obituary for Ellen Wiltfang, it should identify the name and location of the daughter (if still living in 1993). Brother Dale's obit, died 1984, might also have her location. Use the Random Acts volunteers for these also...if there is one in those counties.

Ron Bestrom
Tacoma, WA

Hi Barbara,
If Aggen married Wiltfang in 1984, there are no Census records to look up. You'll need a copy of their marriage certificate.
I'd like to know first of all if Charles was the right given name of Mr Aggen who married Dorraine Wiltfang.?

Then I'd like to know if Charles? was born in Idaho, or where was he born and when. If he and Dorraine had children who they were, etc.

Who Were Charles Aggens's parents, sibblings who did they marry etc.

I know Dorraine had two older brothers(think older) named
Dale 1929-1984, and Daryl 1927-2002. Their parents were
Ellen Nelson Wiltfang born 1906 in Norway, immigrated with her parents Ned(Fred)Nelson and Hesina(variety of spellings) Knudson/Knudsen, from Norway in 1909, and two older brothers immigrated to SD.
I haven't looked, but you can try looking on findagrave.com .
You can search the site by the person's name or by the cemetery name. Good luck!

Hi,
I found more possibilities for an index of who is buried in Glens Ferry. If you offer a donation, a member might be willing to go to the Cemetery and take a picture.

Elmore County HIstorical Museum, 1380 South 3 East, Mountain Home, ID 83647, 208-587-6847.

Glenns Ferry Historical Museum, 211 West Cleveland, Glenns Ferry, 83623, 208-366-2760.

Idaho Genealogical Society, Inc, 4620 Overland Rd, Room 204, Boise, ID 83705-2867, 208-384-0542.
Hi,
There doesn't appear to be a genealogy or historical society in Elmore County or a Random Acts Genealogical Kindness volunteer. Your next best bet for a picture of his tombstone is to post that request on www.findagrave.com . It might take awhile for someone to take it. The name of the cemetery is Glenn Rest.

You can request a copy of his obituary from Random Acts Genealogical Kindness. Go to www.raogk.org, read guidelines, choose Idaho, Choose All. There is a volunteer (John) who does obituary lookups for the entire state. Be sure to tell him that Frank died in Boise but was buried in Glenns Ferry, Elmore Co.
I am searching for a death and suspect she may have passed on in Mountain Home, Elmore County, Idaho, the last place I find her in census...

1910 Mountain Home, Elmore County, Idaho.

She was husband to Adam Miller of Ohio.

If someone does find her there, I would be interested in a copy of the cemetery index they find here in...and also an obituary article.

I don't even know what her married name was.

Anna B Miller was born Oct 1852 in Indiana...but census info is not all that dependable as to birth.
Her husband was Adam Miller born Jun 1851 in Ohio.

I believe this couple married in Anderson County, Kansas.

Please contact directly at PhotoRestore54@aol.com
my account listed at this site keeps filling up with Quilting mail.

My sincere thanks to who ever does look for her...it takes just as much time, if not more, to search for someone and not find them, as it does to find what you are looking for.
Your help is all I have to use. So please accept my sincere appreciation.

Mary Ellen
PhotoRestore54@aol.com
Florida
