FRANKLIN — Marlene Moser Kingsford, 71, passed away early on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Logan Regional Hospital in Logan, Utah. She was born Dec. 24, 1941, in Preston, Idaho, to Joseph LeGrand and Lulu Clayton Moser. She grew up in Whitney, Idaho. Marlene married Larry Dean Kingsford on Dec. 11, 1961, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Marlene loved to watch her children and grandchildren participate in sports and other activities they were involved in. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, and reading cookbooks was her passion. She was kind to everyone she met and could make friends with a stranger on the street. Marlene made many lifelong friends through the years and she cherished every one of them. She worked as a beautician for many years but her real love was visiting with people while working at OP Skaggs and Stokes grocery stores, where she greeted everyone with a welcome smile. Church was very important to her. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various callings, including the Young Women organization, as a librarian, and her favorite was teaching the little children in Primary. Her children and her grandchildren were everything to her. Last year she and her husband celebrated 51 years of marriage. Her spouse, Larry, cared for her through many years of poor health and was by her side until her last day.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, of Franklin; her children Jodi Carmichael, of Las Vegas; Kenneth (Michele) Kingsford of West Jordan; Leslie (Patrick) Curry of Salt Lake City; and Kellie (Jared) Flippence of Hyrum; 21 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Gale (Lynn) Moser; Kent (Kathy) Moser; and Monte (Kay) Moser, all of Whitney. She was preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn baby boy, a stillborn baby girl, a brother Dennis Moser, a sister Joan Nielsen, her parents-in-law Eldon and Blanche Kingsford, and by two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 in the Franklin Stake Center, 106 East Main in Franklin.
