Arlene Bright Larsen, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at her home at Lincoln Court Retirement Center. She was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Winder, Idaho, to Charles "Jack" Leland Bright and Sarah Elizabeth Kendall Bright. She attended primary school in Winder and graduated from Preston High School.
She married Jewel Birch Larsen on Nov. 11, 1948, in Winder. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 22, 1965.
Arlene was a mother, a homemaker and a devoted grandmother. She worked as a clerk at Skyline Drug for several years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a visiting teacher, stake missionary and Relief Society secretary.
She enjoyed collecting stamps, coins and beautiful things. She loved to dance and watch old movies. She especially cherished the times spent watching her grandkids play sports.
Arlene is survived by her sons, J. Lynn Larsen and W. Casey Larsen, both of Idaho Falls; daughter, Ann (Mike) Williams of Idaho Falls; sisters, Verla Harris of Ogden, Utah, and Phyllis (Jim) Kimball of Bear Lake, Idaho; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Imogene; and grandson, Adam.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the Mountain View LDS Ward, 1459 W. Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Randy Wheeler officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
