ROY – Gladys Nina Manning Buttars passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Manor Care in South Ogden.

She was born September 10, 1916 in Preston, Idaho to Willard A. and Sarah Annie Wheeler Manning.

She married Milton Larue Buttars in 1932 in Logan, Utah. They were later sealed in the LDS Logan Temple April 30, 1964. They had 51 wonderful years together before Milton passed away June 6, 1983. She then married John Preston, they had 17 years together before John passed away May 1, 2006.

Gladys lived in Preston, Logan and Roy, Utah. She attended schools in Preston, Idaho.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church callings. Was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Sand Ridge Camp. Gladys traveled throughout the world, spending many winters in Arizona. Gladys worked in retail, retiring from Sears.

She is survived by her children: Larry M. Buttars, Gaylene B. (Dick) Loeffler, Alan L. (Willow) Buttars, 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Doris Platt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter, Deanne Flick, one granddaughter, one grandson, one great-grandson, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Cedar Crest Ward, 3845 South 2000 West, Roy. A viewing will be held Saturday at the church from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
