Aileen Atwood Blaisdell passed away peacefully on April 21, 2014, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born in Logan, Utah, on Feb. 19, 1922, to Joseph Hansen and Ann Godfrey Hansen of Dayton, Idaho. Her life was one of family and nursing service. She began at the Budge Clinic School of Nursing in Logan during the early 1940s. She received her B.S.N. from the University of Utah, a M.S.N. in psychiatric nursing from the University of California, and an Ed.D from the University of California. She was a hospital nursing administrator in San Francisco, frequent lecturer for the National League of Nursing and had several articles published in the American Journal of Nursing. She published books on nurse mentoring and aids. She could be described in two words: brilliant and fun, with her favorite title being Grandma Leen. She is survived by her sons, Robert Atwood of River Heights, Utah, and Charles Atwood of Mt. Vernon, Washington, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was predeceased by her wonderful husband, Reed Baisdell, and many other loved family. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Providence Cemetery, which is located in River Heights, Utah, just to confuse people. Funeral arrangements are by Cache Valley Mortuary, Logan, Utah.
