Dr. Robert L. Sweeten passed away at his home on September 1, 2012 at the age of 96. Our devoted and handsome father lived a full and multi-faceted life. Dad's talents, perfectionism, and work ethic were evident in everything he did. Dad excelled in dentistry, artwork, singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and building family gathering places (Mom dreamed it and Dad built it).
Throughout his life Dad enjoyed - horseback riding, skiing, golfing, painting, wood carving, reading, learning, teaching, storytelling, unique people, and observing nature. Dad loved arm wrestling and his two dogs, Ziggy and Cooper. He shared all of this with his family.
He is survived by children: Robert (Deyanne) Sweeten, Toi (Dennis) Nielsen, Heidi Sweeten, Becky (Blaine) Smith, Trace Sweeten; 16 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle (Carol) Sweeten; sister, Bonnie Snow; sister-in-law, Doris Sweeten. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; sisters, Genevieve Williams, Claudia Atkinson, Cheri Warrington; and brothers, Hugh, Gee, Dewey, and Hagle.
