Shirley Williams passed from this life on February 5, 2013 to rejoin her sweetheart in heaven. She was born on March 18, 1916 in Malad, Idaho to David and Maude Lewis.
While in high school, she met her forever sweetheart, Leon Williams. They married on June 28, 1939 in Ogden, Utah. After 11 years of marriage, Lee and Shirley chose to make North Ogden their permanent home. It was here that they welcomed and raised their little girl and only child, Holly Lee.
Mother was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, North Ogden 7th Ward. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ, and faithfully served in many callings and capacities throughout her lifetime. Mother cherished her service in the North Ogden Civic League. She was particularly proud of being able to contribute to the betterment of her beloved North Ogden while making lasting friendships.
Mother was a true and valiant friend who nourished each friendship with a life-long commitment. She met a stranger but once. Shirley’s greatest love was her family. She loved them dearly and wanted only the best for them.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Holly (Hal) Christensen, grandchildren Kelli (Dave) Hall, Tony (Carrie) Christensen, Todd (Shelley) Christensen and Tyler (Robin). Christensen; and nine grandchildren: Kaycee, Cameron, Abby, Briana, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Hailey, Ryder, Gracie, and Mollie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, two brothers, and two nieces.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Legacy Hospice, particularly Grandma’s sweet Marie, whom she referred to as a “ray of sunshine”.
