Russell William Jenkins died on March 6, 2013. He was 91.
He was born in Woodruff, Idaho to John Merlin Jenkins and Mildred Howell Jenkins on January 10, 1922. Russell was the third of six children; Ardell, Herold, Russell, Jean, Kenneth and Joan. He attended high school in Malad, Idaho. He continued his education at Utah State University in Logan. There he married his college sweetheart, Ruth Adams, on October 8, 1941 in the Logan Utah Temple. They were blessed with 6 children: Glen, Sheldon, Kenneth, Ann, Neal and Denise. Russell and his family moved to South Jordan in 1951. He worked many jobs but his favorite was a salesman for Granite Furniture. He worked selling carpet for many years until retirement. Russell enjoyed serving in many capacities in his South Jordan Ward. He loved to teach the gospel. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Russell is preceded in death by his wife Ruth; sons Glen, Sheldon and Kenneth; brothers Ardell, Herold and Kenneth; and two grandsons. He is survived by his children Ann Daniels, Neal Jenkins and Denise Peterson. Russell was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 12:00 PM at the South Jordan LDS Ward, 11250 S. 2700 W. South Jordan, Utah A viewing for friends and family will be held one hour prior to services. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
