This year is the 150th anniversary of LDS Pioneer Elizabeth Russell Archibald's immigration to Utah.

Many people in Utah and Idaho are descended from Thomas and Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald. Thomas Archibald died in Scotland but Elizabeth Russell Archibald came to Wellsville with several of her children. Some went to Idaho and some went to Canada.

A family reunion for all descendants of Elizabeth Russell Archibald is being planned for Saturday, Sept 8, 2012 at the Wellsville, Utah bowery by cousin Brandon Sundeen. He is planning games for the younger children, sharing of family history info for the adults, followed by a memorial service at the Wellsville Cemetery. Food is POT LUCK. Bring your own lunch and all will share what they bring.

If you have any family heirlooms, photos, letters, etc.. pertaining to Elizabeth Russell Archibald or her immediate family, please bring them for viewing.

Rev. Paul Felthouse will officiate at the services, and military honors will be rendered.

He was born April 18, 1919, at Montgomery, Calif. He was a veteran of World War 11. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Alma Ripley; two daughters, Sue Nelson and Rose Dunsing; two sons, Jim Petty and Harold Petty; his sisters, Roslyn Cook, Elsie Humphrey, Alma Parker, and Evelyn Fields; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Ray Noyer, formerly of Payette, passed away at his home at Lordburg, N. M., Wednesday, May 11, of a heart attack. Mr. Noyer was raised around Payette adn married Ellen Jackson, of Crystal. He is a retired railroad man of the Pacific Electric, in California adn moved to New Mexico a little over a year ago. He is survived by his wife and two sisters, Lottie and Hazel. Funeral services were held at that place Monday afternoon of this week.

As a follow up to this marriage, the couple divorced in March 1924 in Oregon. He was married to a woman named Mae by 1930. The bride went back to her maiden name of Santoris and died under mysterious circumstances in 1928 when she and her parents became involved in the Blackburn Cult, who had their "compound," for lack of a better word, in my hometown. I am currently working on an article about the whole group. As a side note, Harlene's death certificate was signed by Dr. Finis Yoakum, who had run an entirely different, and far less sinister cult, also in the hills of my hometown.

She has on my husbands birth certificate she was born in Spokane,he said she walked from St.Louis side of a covered wagon when she was small. Married Pullman some time inthe 40's had two children dye in a plane crash Lorraine& Billy then adopted Daniel & Susan Kay Peterson Halpern.
Susan has or is not willing to contact me. Hopes this helps

There is also a birth of Ruth Ethel Whiting, born 1904 to C.J. Whiting and Sarah Glenn in Skagit County, WA. This is NOT the correct Ruth. I leave it in the record for elimination in the future.

It shows William J. Whiting obtained 159.2 acres of land in Pend Oreille County, WA on 9/29/1910. I can show you where it is located using online map information if you are interested.

There was a Ruth Whiting, born 9 January 1905 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, died 26 Feb 1984, father: William Fairfield Whiting, mother Anne Harriet Chapin. She is an interesting character...But NOT the correct person. I don't know if you're "living in Boston" person is her, or if you have bonifide information YOUR Ruth was in Boston. I do find it strange that the correct person, living her life in Eastern Washington (Spokane, Stevens, Pend Oreille Counties) would leave GOD's Country for Boston.

Your posting indicates they owned nursing homes in Seattle, did you mean Spokane? I was not able to access King County records due to weekend.

The Social Security Death Index:
Ruth E. Peterson, born 28 Feb 1903, died 27 Feb 1995 in Seattle.
There is insufficient information to determine if this is the correct person, You may have her correct date of birth, which would prove or disprove this person.

The Spokane County Assessor/Recorder first show a Frank and Ruth Peterson when they recorded a deed on 8/6/1947. NO PROOF OF IDENTITY.
--In 1951, a deed is recorded in the name of Ruth E and Joseph F Peterson(I don't know if this is the same persons as above).
--On 02/05/1973, there is a Community Property Agreement between Frank Peterson and Ruth Eleanor Peterson.
--On 10/12/1982, there is a lien granted to Gary Lazzaro by Ruth E and Dan Peterson.
--On 12/21/1982, there is a Revocation filed by a Ruth Ellen Peterson, to Daniel F. Peterson... This identifies a second Ruth and Daniel living in Spokane Co.
--There were Pulliam names, but no indicators of a close enough name or connection to a Ruth.

She was born in Missouri May 26, 1875, and was a member of the Baptist church in Portland.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. G. C. McGee of Fruitland, Mrs. Veva Hellem of Portland and Mrs. H. C. Van Qusduln of Seal Beach, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the George C. Beechler funeral home in Ontario with Rev. Raymond Thompson of Fruitland officiating. Interment was in Evergreen.

I have uncovered that Bertha Louisa Somervill of New Plymouth, Idaho was married on 6 June 1954 to Jasper Sossong at Shelton, Mason County, Washington. They had two children: Timothy Sossong (1963) and Rita Sossong (1965) who are still living. Bertha (Somervill) Sossong was born on 17 November 1918 at New Plymouth, Idaho and passed away on 25 April 1993 at Moses Lake, Grant County, Washington. Bertha was buried in Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Wheeler, Grant County, Washington.
