Pneumonia Fatal To Mail Carrier
A patient at the Schiltz Memorial hospital for about a week, Daniel Abbott, mail carrier on the Yale - Heglar route for the past 30 years, succumbed to pneumonia Wednesday morning. Mr. Abbott was 65 years of age.
The deceased was very well known in the community. He was a veteran employee of the postal department, and for 30 years had carried the mail on the Yale - Heglar route. When the Minidoka dam was built he and his family moved there, later going to Heglar to reside.
For the past few yeras, however, the family home had been in American Falls.
Mr. Abbott's death was not unexpected. During his confinement to the local hospital he had gradually grown weaker, and the end came Wednesday morning.
Left to mourn his loss are his widow, and four sons and a daughter. Three of the sons and the daughter reside at the family home here, while the fourth son, John Abbott, lives at Preston.
