His birth certificate was filled out by an Aunt Mary Etta Davidson 53 years later in Cassia County. It states that there are four children including William. Her parents are William G Davidson and Sara Jane Hill. I can not find information on William's Mother, siblings or Father for him in any where. Any ideas??

Kenneth and his wife, Emma Jean, were friends to my parents. My dad grew up in Blackfoot on the Henry Dunn Ranch. I have tried to find Kenneth and Emma Jean but fear I am too late as I would imagine they have passed on. I wanted to find them to ask about my grandfather, Henry Dunn, Sr's relationship with Chief Joseph as my father told me they were good friends and I was too young to find out the history behind that friendship. Kenneth gave my father a painting of Joseph that has disappeared since my parents have both passed on. Emma Jean gave my children some of those famous painted rocks. The address in my mother's address book gave the P.O. box number as 236 in Blackfoot. I may try the other address to see if Emma Jean may still live there.

Sir,
I met Kenneth and his wife (can't remember here name) in Blackfoot in 1981. His wife was a distant cousin of my fellow worker and we went to Kenneth's house east of Blackfoot and helped to brand his cattle when we were working in the area. We stayed for dinner and visited. He told me about a trip he had just made to show his art in San Francisco. He had a picture of an Indian Maiden with an arrow through her head on his wall that he had painted whose eyes appeared to follow you around the room. At the end of the evening he brought out some of his painted rocks and gave them to us for helping him. I have a river rock with an Indian Chieftian painted on it. As the other person said he had an address label varnished into the back that showed his name and address. He had corrected the P.O. Box to 236 from 226. The label says Painted by Krazy Horse, Kenneth Cosgrove, Box 236, Blackfoot, Idaho 83221. He told me that he was a grandson of the real Crazy Horse. Not sure if that were true, but he was a real nice fellow. I never saw him again after that and my friend has since died of Cancer. There is a Kenneth R. Cosgrove (age 92) with a wife Emma Jean Cosgrove (Age 85) living in Blackfoot now. Maybe they are related or it might be them. Unless he held his age real well he wouldn't be 92. He looked at the most about 20 years my senior at the time I met him and I am 60 now. He should only be about 80 something, but maybe that is him. I can't pull anything up on the phone book and I am several hundred miles away. I love the rock that he gave me and it is strange that I was just looking for information on him too.
I have a rock painted by Kenneth Cosgrove that he used as his buisness card. On the front is a self portrait and the back has his name and address (the P.O. box you posted). He gave this to my mother when she lived in either Idaho Falls or Rexburg. My mother lived there between 1973 - 1976.

I am trying to find William Edward Hammond born about 1859. Everything that I have found leads to him being born in Blackfoot, Idaho on a reservation. He is the father to William Edward Hammond Jr. and his wife was Mary Jane Davidson. William Jr was born in Blackfoot, Bingham County, Idaho. Any help would be very appreciated. This man is a mystery to the whole family. William Jr.'s birth certificate states William Edward Hammond for his father and death certificate stated father unknown.

My great uncle William Young was born in Carol's Corner, Colchester County, Nova Scotia, Canada on Sept. 9, 1844. He lived with his parents until 1871 where I found him in Montana. He married his wife, Susan, March 21, 1885 and they had 2 children. Raymond and daughter Caroline. Have never found Caroline. Raymond married Naomi Leach in 1911 and they had 4 children. I have found 1 living grandson but he has moved and I have now lost where he lives. I do not have anything more on him except that he died 1934. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Coeur D' Alene, Idaho.
I was given information on another Young family but when I put it together this family lived in Ontario, Canada. If you would like a copy of the gedcom please contact me at linda_mesetovic@telus.net.
I hope this can help.

Hello,

My name is Tanya and I am writing to you about the surname Holt. I don't know if it is the same family but I too am looking for information on my family. My great-grandmother was Francis Orr (Holt). I know that her mother was Laura (Scouble). Laura had a few husbands, so I can't give you one married name. If you know anything please let me know.
Thanks,
Tanya

Hi,
I tried writing to Ms. Zipse, but apparently that e-mail address is no longer in use. Do you know how I could contact her?
Here is the e-mail I tried to send her, in case anyone else could help:

Dear Ms. Zipse,

I'm not sure that I have Native American ancestry, but I suspect that I do. I was born in Jerome, ID in 1982. My birthparents' names were Lorie Ann Hardman (who has since changed her last name to Raquedan) and Bill Lee Arneson. I have two aunts on Lorie's side, named Kathy(married name Hillis) and Tina. Lorie graduated from Gooding High School in 1980, and Kathy graduated in 1979, but I do not know about Tina. My maternal grandparents were no longer living at the time of my birth. I
have been told that they died together in a car crash. I do not know their names. Lorie had apparently spent most of her childhood in Gooding. I have been searching for any family members, and I have not been able to contact any so far. I have tried to contact many of the Hardmans throughout Idaho, and I have noticed that there are a few Hardmans now living in Oro Fino, ID. Since Oro Fino is located in the Nez Perce reservation, I am wondering if I have Nez Perce ancestry or relatives. Could you please visit my website for full details on my adoption plus photos which may help with identification:
www.geocities.com/tigrrrrgoddess/adoptee . You can contact me at tigrrrrgoddess@yahoo.com or (208) 440-1204. I will greatly appreciate any kind of information you may obtain.

Thank you,

Rachael
John Barber was a great uncle to my father in law and lived in the Duck Valley Reservation until his death about four to five years ago. I had an opportunity to talk to him only one time about a month before his passing around Nov of 2002.

Did anybody out there know him. I found out he had been cared for by nieces on his wife side. He was very happy to know that his family in Texas thought of him. Although we never met uncle John, my family has always held strong to my husbands native american ancestry and is pround to be of such. We would like to know how he lives his life and is anybody knew his family mainly his wife or his sister, Josefine Barber.

I did find a child which might belong somewhere to this family; there is a Sylvia Crisp born 1889 in MN whose mothers maiden name is Daily. She died in 1904 in Nicollet, MN.
I think you may have the wrong person. Emma Etta Crisp is the daughter of Emma Etta Dailey and Marion Sylvester Crisp. I have documentation to prove it including censuses, cemetery records, etc. Emma Etta Dailey's father was Solomon but I don't know who her mother was. There is a couple of geds on the internet showing a Emma Augusta Dailey born 15 Aug 1857 to William Major Dailey and Nancy Martin.

It seems very strange that this Emma is born 15 Aug 1857 and my Emma Etta Dailey is born 15 Aug 1858. That birth date was taken from her gravestone which she shares with Marion Sylvester Crisp. She was listed as born Oct 1857 on the 1900 census.

Hope this helps you straighten out the Emma's. Good luck on your search.
Janet

Philip Smith and Nez Perce wife Susan

I'm trying to locate the family of Susan who married Philip Smith in 1872. All I can find only says she "was raised by Mrs. Craig."
They had 3 children, William, Jackson and Lydia Ann (m. Paul Corbet)
I know Philips' ancestors and would like to connect to Susan's.
Thank you.

William, Raymond and Naomi Young

William Young is my mothers great uncle and I have found that he is buried in Forest, Coeur d'alene(according to death certificate) and that he lived in Nettleton Gulch before his death. He had a son Raymond Charles Young, wife Naomi and 4 children and I believe they ran a farm in Nettleton Gulch. Raymond in 1934 was working for a smeltering company and his wife and father were still living at the farm. William Young died July 14, 1934 and was buried July 16, 1934. I am trying to find anyone who can help me find a living relative or speak to someone in the above areas. I can not find who I might call to help.
I have found a burial for one of Raymond and Naomi's children, Clarence W. Young b. 1914 d. 1922 it states that he is buried in a farm burial in the vicinity of Rose Lake, not sure of location, but not in Rose Lake Cemetery. I am from Canada and I do not know where any of these towns/cities are.
Thanking you
