I am trying desperately to track down the parents and family of an Anna Marie Gutwasser who married Adolph John Fuehr (Adolph Johann Führ). Anna was born 26 Sept 1849 in Mühlhausen, Thüringen, Prussia/Germany. I'm not entirely syre when Anna came to the U.S., but I believe it to be sometime during the 1850's (according to an entry on her hisband about notable men of Quincy, Illinois). There is a strange inconsistancy in this article (it says Anna married Adolph when she was only 8 years old in Mühlhausen before coming to the US - aside from the obviously too young of age, I have an entry on Illinois marriage index that has them married in Quincy in 1875) So,I'm not entirely sure if she came to America as early as the 1850's, but if it she did, she would still have been young enough to be traveling with her parents and family. I am asing to see if anyone else out there has Gutwasser relatives in Illinois. I've gone through the earliest census records and found nothing, so I'm at a bit of a stand still at the moment. If there are no records in censuses of the family, they might have stayed back in Prussia/Germany, so I think I would probably benefit from tracking down Anna and maybe Adolph (who I know came in 1857) on passenger lists. Does anyone know have any useful information on researching ship and immigration records in Quincy?

Also, if anyone has any information on any possibly related Gutwassers. Please drop me a line.
