JOSEPH COPPOCK OBITUARY

Joseph Coppock was born in Miami County, Ohio, June 21, 1838 and departed this life at his home in Wabash Township, Clark County, Illinois, April 17, 1907, aged 68 years, 9 months and 26 days. When three years old he came with his parents to Clay County, Indiana and there resided until 1858 when he came to Illinois. In 1859 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Wilkerson. To this union were born 6 children, three of whom are living. Mrs. Mary Haslit of Clark County, Joseph O. of Chicago, and William of West Terre Haute and three who with their mother preceded them to the better land. In 1861 when the bugle sounded, he was one among the many volunteers who answered the call on September 9 to enter the civil war. He enlisted for three years and reenlisted for three more returning to Clark County in 1867.
In early life he was converted and became a member of the Baptist Church.
The funeral services were held Friday and the remains laid to rest in Dunlap Cemetery
