William Hilbert was born 18 May 1818 & died 2 Sep 1876. He was the son of Charles Henry Hilbert (1793 to 1848 or 1849) and Anna Jenny Unsell/Uncell. Anna was born abt 1801 and died sometime after 1841. Anna was the daughter of Frederick Unsell & Jane Masters. There is a lot of good info on Frederick & Jane on the internet.
Charles Henry Hilbert, his father, was born 1793 in KY. A cousin from Washington did a lot of research on the Hilberts and discovered that Charles was married 3 times. The cousin hasn't been able to find the name of the first wife yet but there were children by her. He then married Anna (5 March 1818 in Muhlenberg Co., KY) and had 4 children: William; James C. "Hiram"; Frederick K.; and Jane. He abandoned Anna- not bothering to divorce her- and returned to Kentucky and married again to a Margaret Burnett in 1834 in Mercer Co., KY
I should add that Charles Henry was born in KY and died in Jeffersontown, Jefferson Co., KY. At some point he moved Anna and their kids to Clark Co, IL and when he abandoned her they were all living here in Clark Co.
The William Hilbert that you began this with: I'll recap his dates. He was born 18 May 1818 in Jeffersontown, Jefferson Co., KY anda died 2 Sep 1876 in Clark Co., IL. He married Minerva Page on 2 Dec 1838 in Clark Co., IL. Minerva was born abt 1813 in Newburg, KYK and died 20 Feb 1902 in Clark Co., IL. They had three children: Ann Eliza; Julia; and Albert.
Ann Eliza was born 7 Jul 1842 & died 8 Dec 1887 both in Clark Co., IL. She is buried in Darwin Cem, Darwin Twp, Clark Co., IL and married George W. Cox on 12 Nov 1863 in Clark Co., IL. Nothing more is known of her.
Julia was born abt 1841, also in Clark Co, IL and she married John M. Hires. He was born abt 1842 in Indiana and he has a tombstone with no death dates in Darwin Cem., Darwin Twp., Clark Co., IL. They married 30 Jul 1868 in Clark Co., IL as well. Nothing more is known of them, either.
Their brother Albert was born abt 1860 in Clark Co, IL and nothing more is known of him.
I have a descendancy from Charles Henry & Anna (Uncell) Hilbert.
