Mystery in the marriage records.

Since the marriage date is Jan 1841 and Job DOWNEN d. in Jul 1841, it is likely that Ludica married again. But - I don't believe the same marriage date for two husbands is right.

Another problem here is that Job DOWNEN is the son of William DOWNEN who married Margaret ROBINSON who died in Nov 1834, Wayne Co., Illinois. I suppose Ludica could have married her father-in-law - but I wonder?

I would be very pleased to hear from anyone who may have access to marriage records from the time period and from anyone with information about the FRENCH or DOWNEN families.

John Denning - a DOWNEN descendant
