Rock Creek Church is situated about four miles west of Wapella. In the fall of 1837 Father Hugh Bowles made a visit to this neighborhood and with James Scott held a revival meeting at the house of Samuel P. Glenn, where the church was organized. The charter members were HENRY MICHAEL, Peter Crum, Samuel P. Glenn, Ba(e?)njamin Slatten, William Lane, with their wives, and Mrs. Isam Harrold.
Meetings were held at the home of Peter Crum at Long Point and Samuel P. Glenn of Rock Creek. The first church building was erected in 1845. The pioneer preachers were William Ryan, W. P. Bowles and James Robinson. The membership is (1910) eighty and the present pastor Amos Cisco.

Volume V DeWitt County, Illinois Cemeteries contain three (3) Michael's buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, (Farmer City, Santa Anna Twp.). They are Hallett M. Michael 9/30/1900-2/3/1918; Noah B. Michael 1857-1928; Mary E. Michael 1858-1945
Volume I has August H. Michael 1868-1948; Christine Michael 1878-? buried at Pleasant Valley Cemetery,(Tunbridge Twp.) and lastly, Ellington Michael 1858-1864 at Old Union Cemetery (Tunbridge Twp.).
