Elizabeth E. Reed married Baldwin J. Scanland on May 6, 1829 in Gallatin County, Illinois per the Illinois Regional Archives Database, citing an "ISGS article." I THINK that Elizabeth was probably the daughter of Joseph Reed of Gallatin County in 1880. Joseph's wife's name MAY have been Mary Hatchet. Joseph had a son James Reed, whose son William H. Reed's 1880 Census data says that his father (James) was born in Kentucky.
