I am curious as to who were the parents of your Martha Riggins?
My reasons for asking is that I found the family of James Regans/Riggins and Tabitha (Twidwell) living in McDonough Co, in 1840 and 1850. This family came from Davidson Co, NC abt. 1834. The children of James and Tabitha (Twidwell) Riggins/Regans all married in Hancock County, IL, plus the father re-married after the death of the mother, Tabitha, in Hancock Co, IL.

I wondered if perhaps she was a dau of James W. who md. Amelia Rose? James W. was b. abt. 1829 in Davidson Co, NC.
* The Mary Twidwell above who md. James in 1853, was a sister to Tabitha, the first wife of James and the mother of Martha Riggins, b. abt. 1827 in Davidson Co, NC., (I suspect she married Samuel Morris, but haven't found a marriage record) then James W. Levi and Samuel & Sarah were James & Tabitha's other children. Tabitha died between 1850 & the marriage date of James & Mary in 1853. Or are they two different families?
