Earl & Patricia - I think I've got this figured out.

We have the first marriage for Lewis Ellis:

Olive Bassett Lewis Ellis 26 Apr 1849 Shelby Co, IN

I found the first marriage for Margaret Fields:

Margaret Fields Absolum T. Headley 14 Nov 1850 Shelby Co, IN

Absolum must have died and Margaret remarried to Lewis Ellis:

Margaret Headly Lewis Ellis 20 Jan 1866 Tipton Co, IN

You can see from 1860 census Margaret and Absalom have moved to Tipton Co, IN. She probably already knew Lewis Ellis from when they lived in Shelby Co, IN.

1860 census Madison Twp, Tipton Co, IN - 12 Jul 1860

1021/988 Absalom Headley 34 M PA or TN ?
Margaret 31 F IN
George W. 8 M IN
Allice 7 F IN
Henry C. 2 M IN
Sarah A. 11/12 F IN

This all fits with the later 1870 census in Jefferson Co, IL
