Some 15 odd years ago, a cousin, Miles Causey, and his wife, Ann, traveled to Jefferson Co. in search of her ancestors, James H. Pickett and wife, Mary (Polly) Hassell and found them both buried in the Cochram Farm Cemetery in Moores Prairie Township. They talked to a number of people up there and everyone was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, they lost/misplaced most names and addresses of those who were also interested in this family. I am taking this method, therefore, to inform descendants of James and Polly of recent DNA analyses from Mikel Pickett, a proven descendant of Ralph Pickett of NC, and Gerald Pickett, a proven descendant of James H. These two DNA tests matched 36 out of 37. Since Henry Pickett who died in Hickman Co., KY has been established as a son of Ralph, this pretty much confirms (88%) James H. Pickett's connection to Henry, then back to Ralph. Henry himself was a Revolutionary War vetreran from NC who died in Hickman Co., KY, probably in the 1840's. Ralph, Henry's father, died in Rowan Co., NC about 1796.
