William WILLARD b. ca. 1809 in PA; married in PA bef 1832 to Sarah b. ca 1809 in PA. 1840 in Hopewell Twp. Muskingum Co. OH; 1850 & 1860 in Hanover Twp., Licking Co. Ohio; 1870 in Madison Twp., Licking Co. Ohio.
Children:
1) Mary A. WILLARD b. ca 1832 in PA m. ? Derrong/Demming/Dening? had Catherine b. ca 1859 OH;
2) George WILLARD b. ca 1832 in OH. married Elizabeth bef. 1857 in Licking Co. OH. They had at least James, George, & William;
3) Elias WILLARD b. ca 1835 in OH. m. Rachel GEORGE 1855 in Muskingum Co. OH. They had Mary Loretta Willard b. ca 1856 in OH She married a William DODSON; Melvin or Melville b. ca 1858 in ILLINOIS and John S. Willard b. 1860 in McLean Co. IL; This line of the family...or at least Mary's line stayed in McLean Co.at least through the 1930 Census. She died in 1923, but daughter Nellie GAPEN (widowed) was living in her mother's house in 1930).
4) Henry WILLARD b. ca 1837 in Ohio married a Rebecca. He was in Licking Co. OH in 1860.
5) Ellis WILLARD b. 1838 in Muskingum Co. OH. Lived w/parents thru 1860 Census. 1861: Company A, 94th Regiment Illinois Infantry; McLean County; Served 4 yrs. Married in Vinton Co. OH, to Jerusha Emiline KLINE on Jan. 14, 1866. Two sons, Sylvester Frankin WILLARD and John William WILLARD; Not sure if Ellis died ca 1873 or if they were divorced ca 1882. The boys are living w/Jerusha's mother in 1880 Census. Jerusha m. Simpson Jones ROSS, in 1882 and they moved to Missouri.
6) Eliza J. WILLARD b. ca 1840 in Ohio;
7) John WILLARD b. ca 1842 in Ohio.
8) Sarah M. WILLARD b. ca 1845 in Ohio.
9) Elizabeth WILLARD b. ca. 1846 in Ohio.
10) David A. WILLARD b. ca. 1849 in Licking Co. Ohio.
11) William A. WILLARD b. ca. 1853 in Licking Co. Ohio

At various times and places the surname is spelled WILLYARD, WILYARD, WILLIARD and my husband's specific line, which ended up in Missouri spelled their name WILLARD. John William Willard m. Effa Mae "Effie" HOSMAN Oct 1896 in Caldwell Co. MO. They ended up in Henry Co. MO.
