Classification: Query
Surnames: Caffrey and Plunkett
My ggrandfather Bernard (Brian) Caffrey (Caffery), b. 1844, wife Margaret, b. 1835, both in Oldcastle, Meath County, Ireland. Married 1858, son Patrick born 1859 in Oldcastle. Bernard immigrated to New Orleans, LA with brother abt. 1860. Served in Civil War, then Margaret and Patrick joined him abt.1866 in New Orleans. Then the family moved to Monmouth, Warren Cty., IL. Five children were born to them between 1867 - 1875 in towns Monmouth, Elba, Galesburg, IL. Then they moved from Galesburg, IL to Platte County, NE abt. 1876 where they homesteaded. Bernard also worked for the railroads in IL and NE. Bernard d. 4 /19/1898 and Margaret d. 4/28/1910, both in Columbus, Platte County, NE. I am seeking any records on them in Illinois such as state census and Catholic Church baptisms of the children. I can't find them in the Fed. census in IL, but have them in NE. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
