The information I have, in church records, agrees with this. Our records show Richard Wood (1781-1865) as a member of Canteen Creek Church, near Troy; then Union Church, near Prentice in Morgan Co., along with his wife Hester Conlee Wood, where they joined in July 1826. Then they both joined South Fork of Mauvaisterre Church, also known as Sulphur Springs (and the cemetery there is still known that way) in October 1851. Our database of members shows many others of the Wood family, such as Andrew Wood (also a minister) were in Canteen Creek Church. There were also many Conlee's in various churches in our database. We now own part of the cemetery at the second location of Canteen Creek, the county owns the other part. It needs to be restored. Do you have any clue as to where John Hector Conlee is buried?
