This family was from Owen county Indiana and seems to have been both in Piatt and Macon county

Their cousin Albert Branham McKee also settled in Macon county his father was Joseph Howe McKee m. Lucinda Bartlett

Alexander descent was of Joseph brother James McKee m. Mary [-?-]

Joseph Howe and James were sons of RObert McKee and Mary Todd. I have a large manuscript going on The McKee's of Va, Ky, and Indiana of which these were desecendants of.

Her death is recorded in a clipped newspaper article dated 27 Aug. 1936 TPCG as follows: Mrs Sarah McKee died in Cerro Gordo – Cerro Gordo – Mrs. Sarah McKee, 86, Cerro Gordo resident for three quarters of a century, died early Sunday at her home here following a short illness. She was born Feb. 23, 1849 in Columbus, Hoio and came to Cerro Gordo with her parents. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday in the Church of the Brethern, Cerro Gordo. Burial was in Cerro Gordo cemetery. Mrs. McKee leaves two daughters; Mrs. E. T. Gossett, Cerro Gordo; Mrs. Elva Roberts, Decatur, a son, J. W. McKee, Britt Iowa; and a brother George Coon, North Manchester, O.

An abstracted copy of their marriage recorded was found in the civil war pension papers as follows: State of Illinois, Macon County,} ss. I, I. M. Dodd M. E. Pennvell, Clerk of the County Court in and for said County, hereby certify that Mr. Anderson J. McKee and M Sarah C. Coon were joined in Matrimony on the 20th of February, A. D. 1872 by John Metzger Minister of Gospel in said County, as appears on the record in my office In Testimonty Wereof, I have hereunto set my hand and afixed the offical seal of said County, at Decatur, Illinois, this the 29” day of October 1908 M. E. Pennvell, Clerk of the County Court.

He was in the Civil War Co. A. 116th Il. Inf. He deserted his family on 8 Apr. 1884

He d. 19 Jan. 1920 at the Soldiers Home in Danville, Vermilion, Il. and buried there at the Home Cemetery 20 Jan. 1920. Death Certificate was issued by State of Illinois No. 4796 Registered No. 11 10 Andrew J. McKee. Born 1847, Indiana; occupation was listed as engineer Locomotive; he was listed as married but name was not given and names of parents were not listed also. He died of acute cardiace dilatatises and secondary cardiac hypotrophy.
