Nathan Dillon was born in North Carolina February 17, 1793, son of Daniel and Ann Peugh/Pugh Dillon, Jr. He died June 17, 1863/9 in Tazewell County, Illinois. He is also buried in the Dillon Cemetery.
Nathan Dillon was one of the first settlers of Tazewell County, Illinois, and built the first cabin in the county on Dillon Creek, Dillon Township. He was very active in the community. In 1825 he was chosen a County Commissioner for the newly formed Peoria County, which at that time included all of Tazewell County. In 1827 he served as an election judge for the Sand Prairie Precinct, at the house of Samuel Woodrow, and in the same year he served on the first grand jury. He was a Justice of the Peace for many years in the early history of the county.
In another acount of Tazewell Co., Nathen's brother Jesse is given the honor of being the first settler in Tazewell Co. with the Creek, the township, the town and the postoffice being named after him.
I have more info. Am willing to exchange info also.

Does anyone know anything about who she may have been, which tribe (Oglala) Sioux? From? What do you know about her middle name? Ruhama or was it Red as in Redwing?
Where is she? Is she the unmarked grave above Joseph's grave?

My Greatgrandmother Estella, the daughter of Ada told the story of Chief Red Cloud use to come to their home in Casper, Wy for the summer and camp his tent outside their home. There were two pairs of moccasins made for Estella's siblings, Fred and Myrtle.
