I'm looking for any information anyone can give me about my 2xgreat-grandfather. I just received his Civil War records, and know that he was living in Dillon when he enlisted on Oct. 3, 1864 in Springfield. He served in the 26th regiment of the Illinois Infantry. He was 35 when he enlisted (would have been born in 1829), and was a farmer. In addition, I think at some point he returned to Tazewell Co. I have a possible date of death of 4 Mar 1899 in Pekin. Any help will certainly be appreciated.
