You are an angel, Ms. Staley. Thank you.

Childers, Childres, Childress . . .
Freeman, Feeman, Fruman ...

Buena Vista was spelled differently just about every time she got her name on a record. I suspect she went by "Bweeny", "Bwaney" or maybe "Bunny".

I waste more time than I should answering questions on the Yahoo! Answers > Genealogy category. About once a week someone there will post a question about a surname and insist it be spelled just one way. I always tell them that if they haven't found it spelled at least three ways, they haven't been looking long enough.

I've found my Pack Ancestors as Pack, Rack, Back, Peck, Pick, Pike, Pock, Puck, Pak, Park and Pach - so far.
