Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. I have the McNana's placed in Massac county from 1850 on. I'm looking for any info on Patrick McNana's parents in 1850 or before.

I have Patrick McNana (my g-g-g grandfather) and his brother Robert placed in Massac in 1860. In 1850 Patrick is 10 and living in the household of a man named Williamson. Robert isn't there and so far I haven't been able to locate him in the 1850 census.

Patrick was born in Ireland 1839/1840 and, according to the 1860 Census, Robert was born in Illinois around 1845. I've had no luck finding their parents who are not listed in the 1850 census. I was hoping to find at least thier father's name though some land/tax records.

In 1860 Patrick is still living in the household of James W. Williamson of Massac Co, but Patrick is now married and his brother, Robert, is also living there.

I thought Robert might have run off to the Civil War, but the only Robert McNanny I find there is firmly documented as having been born in Ohio to a Francis McNanny.

I'm related to the Short's through my g-grandmother Mattie Lenore Copeland (married James W. McNana - Patrick's son). Her grandfather was Joshua Short Copeland.

Thanks,
Janette McNana
