I could only find that one Minooka in IL. I think that POB is probably incorrect, as other vital records referencing the children that mention a specific POB say Bloomington. But I found it odd that Minooka was mentioned. You don't come up with a name like that out of the blue.

I've searched the online naturalization indexes for IL & MA. Census records indicate he naturalized in IL. But IL indexes don't provide enough information for me to determine which record could be his.

I have no idea what happened to Michael's brother Thomas. I can't track him after that 1880 census.

I only have a birth record for the child born in Boston. The rest were born in IL, & I haven't been able to find them. Other vital records won't help me determine where Michael & Catherine married (although I do have a lot for their children & grandchildren in MA).

They didn't make it to a 50th anniversary, as Michael died in 1913. I haven't had any luck finding anything about the family in newspapers thus far. I'm still working on finding a death record for Catherine.
