I am trying to trace a cousin on my dads fathers side by the name of Clyde E. Owen. His father was George Washington Owen, Jr, who was born in Illinois in about 1848-49. George Washington Jr, was the son of George Washington, Sr. and Eleanor Owen. They lived in Illinois and Nebraska for a time, before settling in California. It is believed they came to California between 1857 and 1866. Have found them mainly in Fresno County and that general area.


It is believed that Clyde E. Owen, had an older brother named Alfred. Clyde was born in California about 1880. He was a witness to my g-grandfathers passport record. I am trying to connect him to my great-grandfathers grandmother, Melinda Owen Tucker, (born about 1812 in Tennessee and died about 1880 in Sutter Creek, Ca.). I am trying to determine who Melinda s parents were, as well as brothers and sisters.
