Family of Robert Barnet Spence, White CO, IL 1800's

Anyone out there have connections to or info about Robt.(Barnet)and Adaline Colvert Spence(they married 10/10 1849)? Barnet (b.9/20 1824) was son of Robt. and Jane (Wilson) Spence. Does anyone know what country this family, before Robert and Jane, came from? I do know that Barnet and Adaline had 9 children, one of whom was James R. Spence, my great-grandfather.
