The Decatur County, Indiana information contained here in come Presbyterian Church Records of Indiana; LDS films # 1455666, item 11, and #1455667. The immediate, first two quotes are from an article called the HISTORY of SPRING HILL CONGEGATION by Wm Anderson, on one of these films.

"The denomination to which the church afterward built at that place is known as the United Presbyterian Church of North America. It was formed by the uniting of the Associate Presbyterian, or as it is often called, the Seceder Church with the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church on the 26th day of May 1858 at the city of Pittsburg PaÂ…."

"In the fall of 1820 some of those who after word formed a part of the con-gregation viz Alexander Logan, Joseph K and Andrew E Rankin came from Fayette Co Ky and remained through the winter Built a cabin on 160 acres of land enclosed by James Logan, Brother of Alex Logan & cleared a spot of ground around it and also did some work on land of Josh Rankin. The next spring James Logan & family came out and occupied the cabin built as a fore aid in the course of a year several other families came out and settledÂ…."

The information that follows is a composite taken from the marriage, birth and death records of the New Zion United Presbyterian Church, later known as the Spring Hill Church, Decatur County, Indiana. While I do have a complete copy of the marriage and death records I copied only those baptismal entries pages that had information on my search. Therefore, not all of the Logan baptismal records are given here. I know there are more Logan entries.

As you can see, I have highlighted the two of individuals you mentioned. I believe there are baptismal records for both of these individual's families. I have no information on Samuel and Tirzah Logan. But I do believe these are some of their children, and other relatives, coming out of Fayette County, Kentucky. Note the Alex and James Logan in the opening quotes. Could these be brothers of Samuel Logan? Also there are mentions of members of a Meek family in these records. These people had a tendency to travel as a family group.

I hope that this information is of some help. I do believe that if you view these two films you might find information that will help you. Please let me know if it does. Also, my David & Rosanna Mitchell come out of the Bourbon County / Fayette County area by way of Highland County, Ohio. They met up with Mitchell and Duncan relatives who came straight from Kentucky to Decatur County, Indian. If you would stumble upon anything, please let me know.
