I am researching the family of James Allen and Martha Matilda (Collins) Zick. My problem is that I am having difficulty locating the majority of the marriage and birth records. I can determine names and dates of birth from other sources in most cases, but I am baffled by the lack of actual documents. I know almost all of these people lived, were married, and had children in and around Attica, IN
(Fountain County) but it seems they never got marriage licenses or registered the births of half their children. Anyone have a possible explanation for this? Or does anyone have biographical info for Sterling Horace or William Brownlow Zick and their descendants specifically?
