Notes for WAYNE L. REES:
Wayne L. Rees 85 Ash Street, Redkey died 19 February 2005 at Jay Co hospital.. Born 8 Oct 1919 in Redkey to Harley and Luvona (Barlow) Rees he married Norma Dunmoyer on 1 November 1939. She survives. Wayne was a 1937 graduate of Redkey High School and lifelong Redkey resident. He was a member of the 135th Battalion in the US Navy and was a Sea Bee. After leaving the Navy he worked at Hampton Bakery, CAAR Canning Co and was a Jay Co Deputy Sheriff. He also operated the Standard Service Station in Redkey and worked for 22 yeas as a supervisor at Kerr Glass in Dunkirk. At the age of 80 he received his DCL license and worked for Fed Ex. He was a member of American Legion Post #401 where he had served as commander and was past president of Union Local #121. Surviviing includes wife, two sons, Steven Rees of Redkey and Ryan Rees of Dunkirk, one daughter Sharon Claycomb of Portland and a brother William Rees. of Redkey.
Services are Monday at M. J. S. Mortuaries- Redkey Chapel.
